Daniel was put in a the age group above his age because of lack of competitors in his age group and fought very well to get his bronze medal.

the Norfolk youngsters competed and fought for every point and was very pleased to have the Norfolk Sombo Association team at this event again this year.

The clubs head coach Graham Mann, would like to congratulate all who took part in this competition, especially the two British Champions, who both have retained their titles from last years competition. They have both shown that if you work hard you can achieve excellent results.
The team would also like to thank Phil Rotchford & Carole for getting the Mini-Bus to and from Sittingbourne, and getting us all home safely.
Sombo wrestling is a style of Jacket wrestling, from Russia, similar in style to Freestyle and Olympic wrestling and several other martial arts, including Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The sport involves both throwing and ground work techniques and the sport was developed by the Russian army as their version of self defense training , which is where the name Sombo comes from.
