Gorleston Self Defence Club Holds Annual New Year Competition
On Sunday 8 th January 2006, the O-Yama-Ryu Goshin Jitsu Martial Arts Club, held their annual Back to Back competition. The event was attended by students, drawn from the different venues, where the club runs classes, including Belton, Gorleston and Southtown and by students from the clubs associated sister clubs at Bradwell, Fleggburgh and Martham
This is the curtain raiser for the clubs year of events and seminars and always starts the year off in style, Certificates were presented by Sensei's Graham Mann & Peter Marsh and were awarded as follows :-
Group 1 - Gold - Caleb Yorkston (m), Silver - Mathew Dobinson (bw)

Club Instructor Graham Mann said he was pleased with the days competition, and Shihan Garwood would have been pleased with the level of competition.

The Goshin Jitsu Style is a combination style of self defence techniques which combines elements of Ju jitsu , Judo, Aikido, and some elements of Karate and groundwork techniques similar to some wrestling styles like Russian Cambo (known as Sombo).
