Gorleston Self Defence Club Holds Annual Summer Grading

On the Saturday 2nd June at the Church Lane Community Centre, the O-Yama-Ryu Goshin Jitsu Club held its regular summer grading . This was the opportunity for the students to show to their parents some of the Goshin Jitsu and self defence techniques they had learnt in the last six months of training with the club, and a total of Twenty Four students went through their paces and were awarded the coloured belts that they had trained for. The Clubs Senior Instructor Shihan Kevin Garwood said he was pleased with the progress of all the students, but did emphasize if the students want to achieve the highly prized Black belt, it has to take a lot of dedication, effort and regular training and like sports, if you work hard and train regularly you get out of it what you put in.
The following Students gained their Red Belts:-
Charlotte Broom, Dominic Jolly, Olivia Knight, Emily Leeder, Georgia Leeder, Jessie Leeder, Paul Martyniak, Leon Mavroudis, Zuzanna Rozycka & April Wood. Chantelle Etches and Eve Walker both gained their Yellow Belts, Kurtis Barnard gained his Blue & White Stripe Belt, Caleb Duerr, Colm McKenna & Reece Ryan all gained their Blue Belts and Thomas Stubbs was awarded his Brown Belt with white Stripe.
