On the Wednesday 4th June at the Lichfield Community Centre, the Southtown
O-Yama-Ryu Goshin Karate Club held its regular summer grading. This was the opportunity for the students to show to their parents some of the Goshin Karate and self defence techniques they had learnt in the last six months of training with the club.
The grading was held by the clubs Sensei Jonathon Heales and Senior Instructor Shihan Kevin Garwood who said they were both very pleased with the progress of all the students, but did emphasize that takes a lot of dedication, effort and regular training and hard work and training regularly before you can get your upper grades belts.

The Goshin Karate Style is a combination style of self defence techniques which combines elements of Jui jitsu , Judo, Aikido, and some elements of Karate and groundwork techniques.
